How things used to work
OC Tannklinikker has 14 clinics and is growing. Its managers work in clinical practice and day-to-day operations, rather than sitting behind a computer.
Some managers followed up with employees on sick leave; others did not. Many were unsure what they were allowed to ask, did not know the deadlines and did not realise they needed to log in to NAV. HR had to call each manager individually to check the status.
What happens now
When an employee goes on sick leave, follow-up starts automatically. The manager and employee receive text messages with specific tasks and deadlines. The follow-up plan is submitted without the manager having to log in to NAV.
Ingvild logs in to Preppio to see the status of every case across all 14 clinics. She no longer spends time chasing information.
A case that made an impression
An employee had been on full-time sick leave for a long time, without any follow-up. When a new manager took over and introduced Preppio, they got in touch and met for a conversation over lunch.
It turned out that the employee had been dreading returning to work, unsure what colleagues would say and feeling guilty. After that one conversation, the employee decided to ask their doctor about partial sick leave.
“When the employee heard that we would really like them to come in and say hello, they chose to go back to their doctor and ask for partial sick leave. They felt that this was a place they could feel safe returning to.”

What Ingvild highlights
Two things make Preppio stand out for OC Tannklinikker. The first is text messaging. Staff at the clinics do not always check email or Teams, but text messages get through.
The second is that the system comes ready to use. They got started quickly, without a lengthy setup process.
“Possibly the best support I have experienced for an HR system. Things are followed up very quickly.”
Ingvild Wik-Eng, Head of HR, OC Tannklinikker
